Abstract

In this study, a classification system for classifying healthcare service design cases by the characteristic of each case is established and presented. In order to establish a competitive service strategy, a systemic classification of existing cases and analysis process are very important. For this purpose, a classification system established in this study reflects on the core of healthcare service design – ‘Human activity’. Actual cases of service design in Korea are used to explain the method of classification in detail. This classification system, which reflects on the core of healthcare service design, can be utilized in various ways for planning a service strategy, such as extraction of similar cases, reviewing, comparison, and so on, while providing a standard for determining whether a case of healthcare service design covers the core of healthcare service.
