oduct development. The changed situation on the market and the pressure of the price that is added through the globalisation of the markets increases the pressure on toolmakers and mould makers. The need for action lies in a much higher reactivity and flexibility to cover the demand of prototypes up to the miniature series[LiRB]. Also and especially from the automobile industry a provision of series-identical prototypes is compellingly demanded. With the RP-technologies there are possibilities to fulfil those demands at least partly, however, the “traditional” machines and chains of process in this concern are optimised and on a high degree. New ideas and technologies and also different integration of already existing and also new chains of process are asked for to overcome the restrictions in this concern [MeRR, LiRH].
